| | Neben dem ''[[Café Stefanie]]'' [[Amalienstraße]] wird auch der ''Simpl'' als Künstlerkneipe schnell bekannt. Kobus arbeitet bis zu ihrem vorläufigen Ruhestand 1912 selbst aktiv daran, ihr Lokal diesbezüglich zu etablieren, indem sie beispielsweise [[Karl Valentin]], [[Joachim Ringelnatz]] und [[Theo Prosel]] auf ihre Bühne holt und teilweise auch als Hausdichter vertraglich bindet. Die Zeit zwischen 1903 und 1912 ist die erste Hochzeit des ''Simpl''. Aber auch danach sorgen neue Vortragskünstler, wie ab 1913 zum Beispiel die Diseuse [[Marietta di Monaco]] oder ab 1919 der schwierige Chansonnier [[Walter Hillbring]], der zum Leidwesen Kathi Kobus' (die wegen finanzieller Schwierigkeiten den Laden wieder übernommen hatte) die Bühne wieder verließ, wenn das Publikum ihm nicht beliebte, für neue Impulse, wie auch für die Dichter der Schwabinger Bohème das Simpl ein zentraler Anlaufpunkt blieb, wenn es darum ging dem literarisch interessierten Publikum neue Texte vorzustellen. In diesem Zusammenhang soll im Simpl bei einer Rezitation Mariettas 1914 und damit zum ersten Mal in der Literaturgeschichte der in einem von Klabund und Hugo Ball gemeinsam verfassten Gedicht auftauchende Begriff "''Dada''", der sich später in der Bezeichnung für die neuentwickelten Kunstform des Dadaismus wiederfand, öffentlich gefallen sein. |

Auch Theo Prosel taucht wieder auf, diesmal als Pächter. Unter anderem treten jetzt jüngere Künstler wie [[Fred Endrikat]] auf. Der letzte Hausdichter des alten "Simpl" ist Dr. [[Ernst Klotz]] (bis 1944). Viele Figuren aus der Ära alter "Simpl" gehören später zu den ersten Trägern des ab den 60er Jahren verliehenen [[Schwabinger Kunstpreis|Schwabinger Kunstpreises]]. |
